Berry Museum

Dive into the heart of Berry’s heritage at the Berry Museum, a cornerstone for history enthusiasts. Nestled within the walls of the former ES and A Bank, a structure of notable importance crafted by the esteemed William Wilkinson Wardell in 1886, this museum is a portal to the past.

Berry’s beginnings are deeply intertwined with the Coolangatta Estate, the vision of Alexander Berry, marking the town’s private origins. The Museum proudly houses a vast array of documents and artefacts that chronicle the early days of the Berry district.

Founded in 1970, the Berry Museum boasts a rich tapestry of historical items, photographs, and memorabilia, all donated by the local populace. These collections offer a glimpse into the region’s agricultural, dairy, and timber heritage, with a plethora of images depicting historical figures, locales, and pastimes throughout the museum.

Visitors can enjoy both guided and self-guided tours, including interactive experiences in the ‘please do touch room’ designed for younger guests. To partake in a guided or group tour, prior booking is essential.
